R. Family Fall Session | New York Family Photographer

I've photographed this family many times but these may be my favorite session from all. The colors, oh the colors! I always forget how much I love Fall; it's only when the leaves start to change that I'm in love with it all over again. This year in particular it's been beautiful because of the wonderful weather that has allowed us to walk over leaves and pick them while feeling the cool breeze, free of heavy coat and gloves. I don't think we experienced Fall last year.

Anyway, back to the session. I was surprised when I went over the images on my computer. With a toddler running around and wanting to play it's hard sometimes to photograph them but the trick is to play along, get on their level, forget about the perfect portrait and enjoy the moment with them. You may be pleasantly surprised.

R-V. Family and Maternity Session | New York Family Photographer

Back in April, I photographed this beautiful mama and her daughter as they shared with the world their excitement for the new baby girl that was on its way. Four months later, we met again for a family photo session. The sun setting over a serene and elegant garden overlooking the Hudson was perfect for this warm and bighearted family.

Their new addition has arrived (this post came a bit late) and I will be sharing newborn photos shortly. All my love and best wishes to them. Love you guys.

It was such a pleasure to do this session for a dear friend and her family. I've known her since our pre-teen years and it's always fun and interesting to see how people evolve and grow to have families of their own. You realize after a while that they haven't changed much over the years, that just like you, they've experienced life and learned from it, shifting their priorities and perspectives along the way.  We no longer see each other much but, through our children we get a glimpse and reminder of who were, how we smiled and looked at life back then. My friend's daughter reminded me much of her in our school years and so did her son who, though quiet for much of the session, resembled the maturity and warmth of his mom. I can't wait to see the new addition to this happy and loving family, who will bring even more joy to their lives. My best wishes to them all.
